Resveratrol – An Anti-aging Antioxidant?

Are Resveratrol Supplements the latest anti aging fad.  Aging is really a breakdown of many parts of you – but broken things can be fixed.  Aging is mostly characterized by a progressive deterioration of physiological functions and metabolic processes.

Antioxidants, already have a very healthy reputation.  But dietary antioxidants just got a lot more support, with one of them turning in a really spectacular anti-aging performance. Studies and research continue to find even more interesting and hugely important benefits from this red wine compound, which include potential anti-cancer and anti-aging activity.
Resveratrol actually activates a cell’s survival defense enzyme, which then prolongs the time cells have to repair their broken DNA.   This means it has gigantic anti-aging potential if used on a regular basis.

Television, newspapers and magazines over the last few years have been keeping us updated with news of this anti-aging, anti-oxidant and the seemingly miraculous properties of a good red wine.  Most people now, including wine lovers are already aware that red wine contains a powerful antioxidant named resvratrol.  Resveratrol appears to work as a powerful antioxidant in helping to quench free radical damage in the body, but in addition also has a unique mechanism of action that may prove to have significant life extension properties.

Antioxidant resveratrol is also very important for improving heart health, as it will often reduce blood pressure by opening the arteries, therefor increasing the blood that flows through them.  Antioxidants appear to slow down cell damage and the progression of degenerative diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s along with improving organs, eyes, skin, teeth and gum health.

The main component of wine that researchers have uncovered that causes all these great things to happen is called resveratrol, which is also found in a number of other foods and berries, including peanuts and blueberries.  But grapes and mostly red grapes are the clear winner producing much more resveratrol than the other foods mentioned.
Red wine also contains tannins, which along with the reservatrol could explain why it has such strong anti-cancer properties.   Large quantities of red wine is also associated with a slight but statistically significant and important reduction in the development of lung cancer, as reported in the journal Thorax.  Red wine in many experiments, has been shown to be much more effective in decreasing some of the risk factors of coronary heart disease than most other alcoholic beverages.  This is why so many believe that the proven benefits of red wine help to explain the “French Paradox ”in which the French have much lower rates of heart disease while they consume a very high fat diet.  Very similar to the Mediterranean diet, although their diet does consist of less fatty foods than the French.

Summing up benefits of Resveratrol then;

  • Resveratrol is an active poly-phenol that is found mainly in red wine AND  that has anti cancer benefits
  • Resveratrol is known to help fight cancer tumor growth
  • Resveratrol protects heart tissue from the side effects of the cancer chemotherapy drug
  • Resveratrol is known to be protective against oxidative cardiovascular disorders

Resveratrol Selectcontains a high percentage of the powerful red wine antioxidant, resveratrol (often called The Fountain of Youth) in a formula that includes several other important antioxidants.  Resveratrol Select contains the natural antioxidant that is being heralded by scientists and researchers as an anti-aging miracle drug that can help ward off the effects of age-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, strokes, obesity, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

Resveratrol Supplements

In an effort to discover the therapeutic effects of diverse plants, scientists have started to isolate different substances thought to be of benefit.  One of the examples that can be given is represented by Polygonum Cuspidatum, from which Resveratrol (3, 5, 4’- trihydroxystilbene) was isolated and taken for extensive research.

Todayresveratrol supplements seem to be more beneficial than
anyone could have ever imagined.  Resveratrol is a constitutive element of red wine and in studies,
has shown that one of its most powerful effects is the protection offered for the cardiovascular system.

From when it was isolated and up to the present time, many discoveries have been made about Resveratrol and its effects. Studies have been performed on mice and the findings were extraordinary. It seems that a high Resveratrol dose has amazing effects, not only cardio protective but also inhibits tumor growth (Resveratrol supplements have been considered for their chemo preventive action in studies) and even increases the lifespan of lab rats. All these effects have been observed in the studies made on Resveratrol molecule, and has been made available now on the Internet in the form of Resveratrol supplements.

As everyone knows, a large percent of the studies made on mice have provided answers to treatments that can be performed or given to humans. Resveratrol capsules contain a high dosage of Trans-Resveratrol that may offer all the effects presented above and even some that are still being studied. The Resveratrol molecule is known to reduce inflammation caused by immune mechanisms in affections such as psoriasis and Chron’s disease, representing much more effective alternatives than other options considered. Also, the same Trans-Resveratrol in the herbal capsules is known to reduce the stress levels in rodents and thus, protect the organism from further disease.

If you are interested in Resveratrol, make sure that you read some of the conclusions presented by the studies made and also what the recommended doses compare against those doses given in studies. Don’t be scared if the doses recommended are high as they need to be that way in order for the substance to be as efficient as possible.  Try a Resveratrol capsule with Trans-Resveratrol from natural herbs and you will definitely be impressed with the results. They represent exactly the kind of new dietary health supplements that can positively produce results. In studies, Resveratrol shows that it protects the heart but also your circulatory system, reducing the risk of vascular attack. It is a well known fact that much of the ischemic and vascular attacks are caused by increased stress. Resveratrol allows the body to respond better to stress even though the mechanisms by which this substance acts have not been completely elucidated.

As a final conclusion, there are three things one must understand about Herbal Resveratrol;

  1. it appears to require higher doses than one can get from wine in order to have improved beneficial effects.
  2. it is 100% safe and in studies, has an effect on a wide variety of illnesses (inflammatory, cancerous and age-related such as Alzheimer).
  3. it represents a natural herbal supplement, which is an incredible natural advantage over a hard drug. It can be taken by those interested in dietary regimes, in capsules of 500 or 300 mg.

Just make sure that you do not give Resveratrol supplements to children under the age of 18, as the studies on child development are still not conclusive.

Other from that, feel free to take advantage of all the potentially amazing benefits brought on by the Resveratrol herbal capsules!

Anti Aging Skin Treatments

Looking Young

Looking young is an important goal to most people, particularly women.  But more men are  now caring for their skin condition and wanting to retain their youthful look.  It can be really difficult to keep your skin looking young especially for those that have worked outdoors and
after the skin has been exposed to years’ worth of irritants and harsh conditions and no care.

Fortunately today there now is some great and natural anti-aging skin treatments that have been developed that can restore your youthful look to your skin.  The aging appearance of your skin comes from many factors, however most skin treatments generally target only one or two of them rather than the entire spectrum of possible age-related changes.

Anti-wrinkle creams and lotions, as the name suggests, try to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and finer lines perhaps after they’ve appeared.  And because wrinkled skin is one of the main indicators of your age, if you can find an effective anti wrinkle cream it can make you appear several years younger.  Mostly these products will focus on the fine lines that appear prior to full-blown wrinkles.  However some of them are made for the skin in general, while others for your face or focus just on the your eye area.  If you use a recommended and well tested product, they can be really quite good if used regularly and you use them early enough before the lines and wrinkle get too deep.
Another form of anti-aging skin care treatment aims to reduce or eliminate the appearance of age spots, which are those darker spots caused by sun damage.
Dehydration of the skin is another obvious sign of aging and countering this is a big part of keeping the skin looking young.  We never used to moisturize our skins as much as we should have, so therefore good anti-aging skin care product will have an effective amount of hypoallergenic moisturizers in them.  Mostly combined with anti-wrinkle creams so they will do both, but you can find moisturizing lotions on their own too.
If you want to  counter or reduce the main signs of aging such as lines, spots, and overall skin dehydration and keep yourself looking young for many years, a good selection of the correct products will make your skin look healthy and vibrant and keep people guessing your real age.

A Little Red Wine

A Little Red Wine – Could Take You A Long Way!

There are more and more ‘baby boomers’ getting older and so living longer interests a lot of more people that it did 20 years ago.  People aren’t ready to give up their lives just yet and want to live longer and longer, see their grand children grow, travel more and later in life and generally be healthier and fitter than what their parents were at the same age.   So we look to healthy alternatives to achieve this, from culturally defined eating patterns and diet and much better health care.  There is much more research to support the healthier lifestyle that we yearn for as I guess new products that are proven to work can bring the developers a huge financial reward  and satisfaction.

One of the really interesting studies has shown that the benefits of drinking wine that have been touted for a while, and are thought by many to be the reason why the French in particular can get away with eating such a high fat diet while enjoying a low rate of coronary disease, are actually true.  A few years ago, another study by French research team, found that men who regularly drank at least two glasses of red wine daily were 50% less likely than non-drinkers to suffer a second heart attack.  That is quite amazing really and so we should all enjoy some red wine in our daily diet and lesson the risk of heart trouble.  Not hard to do of course if you like wine!!

Previous studies that have taken place with yeast, a small species of worm, and fruit flies have shown that resveratrol is a life extending, anti aging compound.  It is a polyphenol antioxidant that is especially found in red grapes, particularly Pinot Noir, which are grown now in many countries and has grown in popularity dramatically over the past few years.  In the USA the local wines come mainly from New York, Washington and Oregon, but there are many great Pinot Noirs coming out of Europe and lately some very special ones out of Australia and New Zealand (if you get a chance to buy or try an NZ Pinot Noir – do so as you will be amazed how good they are)!!

In a recent study from Italy, short living breed of tropical fish increased their life span by more than 50% after having a diet containing  resveratrol.  Not only did fish that were fed resveratrol live longer than the others in the control group, they also stayed livelier as they aged and displayed better memory in stimulus and response tests.  After they died they were dissected and scientests found that the neurons in their brains hadn’t decayed as quickly as the other fish.  There hasn’t been that sort of tests done yet on humans, but I’d be prepared to try it out and possibly live longer and healthier.

Resveratrol is an organic compound that amongst other places is contained in the skins of grapes that protects them from disease.  It is extracted from the grapes during the wine making process and then the wine becomes a preservative for the resveratrol and so prevents its oxidation.

Testing has also shown that resveratrol that is in food supplements, oxidizes when exposed to air and so loses its effectiveness.  Because resveratrol from wine has neither been extracted nor preserved it retains it’s quality, pureness and strength.  So drinking grape juice or eating raisins doesn’t have the same effect as drinking red wine or taking resveratrol supplements.
red grapes
Red wine could realy be the new miracle drug – and the best thing of all is that it’s completely natural!!

Other studies have also shown that wine, especially red wine, can help prevent colds, increase the levels of HDL (good) cholesterol, lower the risk of Alzheimer’s, reduce the size and number of fat cells in the body (weight loss), reduce the risk of prostate cancer and also has anti-inflammatory properties.  So why wouldn’t you take a supplement evry day when it has so many positive benefits.

Drug companies are now trying to copy red wine or resveratrol because of the huge health improvement potential, but might not be able to preserve it’s health-preserving benefits plus with a manufactured drug who knows what the side effect may be.

Besides, resveratrol is freely available in red wine and not patentable as such – or resveratrol supplements will give you a stronger dose without any hangover.

Resveratrol Side Effects

There are now many people who have discovered and experienced all the real benefits of taking resveratrol regularly and it is really reassuring to know that there is little or no known side effects of resveratrol.  Whether you take it naturally by drinking red wine, or as a antioxidant supplement in the form of a red wine pill, there are virtually no resveratrol side effects to worry about.

However one of the more common concerns regarding resveratrol side effects is that Resveratrol contains small amounts of estrogen related properties.  If you have estrogen sensitivities and plan to take resveratrol supplements, there could be mild health risks for you and so you should consult with your doctor before use.

If you are taking blood thinning medication, you should also check with your doctor before taking this supplement as one of the other side effects of resveratrol involve its blood thinning properties.

Resveratrol Research

There currently is a huge amount of exciting research going on in regards to the many health benefits of resveratrol, but in addition to that the scientists are also conducting a lot of research into its potential risks and side effects as well.

The estrogen and blood thinning side effects of resveratrol have been the main focus in the medical research regarding this antioxidant.  These two side effects so far are the only ones that might pose any kind of health risk for people taking resveratrol.  Any other side effects that individual people may have reported might not be specifically caused by resveratrol, and so further studies will be required to prove this or otherwise.

Alcohol Reaction

Those of you who want to add the benefits of resveratrol to your life can do so by drinking red wine.  However you do need to drink a fair bit of it and so I’m sure you will suffer the occasional adverse reaction to the alcohol, which I’m sure is well known to most of us and can include terrible headaches (hangover), nausea, vomiting and nasal congestion.  So if you decide to drink red wine to get the resveratrol health benefits, please be sensible and aware that any side effects are going to be due to your intolerance to alcohol than that of the antioxidant itself.

You can enjoy all the health benefits of red wine without the alcohol effect by taking a red wine pill or a resveratrol antioxidant supplement.  This way you will enjoy the all benefits of resveratrol, but won’t suffer the negative side effects of too much alcohol.

Other Possible Resveratrol Side Effects

If you are nursing or pregnant you should first consult with your doctor before taking resveratrol.  This is a precaution but no different to most other diet supplements.

Additionally, those of you taking prescription medication of any kind also need to consult with your doctor before adding resveratrol to your daily diet.  Otherwise there maybe adverse side effects from combining resveratrol with your medication.

Common sense will help you to avoid suffering from any unpleasant side effects when taking your resveratrol dosage, if you monitor how you feel after taking the antioxidant supplement.  If unsure or do experience any side effects please consult with your doctor.

Resveratrol Health

Is Resveratrol all it’s cracked up to be? Is it just a fad or are there real health benefits to be gained?  For a long time now, we have marvelled at the extended life expectancies of Europeans who drink red wine daily.  The so called ‘French Paradox’ is perhaps why the French manage to live longer and have a much lower incident of heart disease compared to the American population, despite their diet being so high in fats.

Resveratrol is found in the skin of red grapes and as a constituent of red wine may explain why.  This and the fact that they have a high consumption from young of red wine in particular, which is very rich in reservatrol.

Now that this secret has been uncovered, Resveratrol has been at the centre of ground-breaking research into its many benefits and then more recently, has been available as a supplement for daily consumption.

Reservatrol is a natural supplement with very high levels of anti-oxidants in it.  The molecules of resveratrol provide a natural detoxification of muscle and fat tissue.  When a safe daily dose of Resveratrol is taken, you will start the process which will naturally help you to shed pounds and trim your fatty areas.

What is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a substance that is produced by several plants.  It is found in varying amounts in the skin of grapes (depending on variety and color), berries including blueberries, raspberries, bilberries, and cranberries, in peanuts, Scots and eastern white pine, and Japanese knotweed.  Red wine also contains high levels of resveratrol, mainly in the skin and pulp.

Resveratrol is produced as an antifungal chemical in many plants.  It is produced in the plant to respond to an invading fungus stress, injury, infection or ultraviolet irradiation.

Resveratrol exists in two different forms referred to as:

  1. Cis-resveratrol
  2. Trans-resveratrol.

Of the two, Trans-resveratrol is the most important component and is where the most benefit of Resveratrol comes from.

Studies which have been carried out into Resveratrol all suggest that the antioxidants found (called polyphenols) help to protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart.

These antioxidants come in two main forms:

  1. Flavonoids – these antioxidants are found in a variety of foods, including grape juice, apples, oranges, onions, tea and cocoa. Flavonoids can also be found in other types of alcohol, such as white wine and beer, however they contain small amounts. Red wine has shown to have the highest levels.
  2. Non-flavonoids – are the most powerful antioxidants found in Resveratrol and so have been the subject of numerous studies.  One of the main benefits is that they appear to help prevent arteries from becoming clogged with fatty blockages.  However, these studies have mostly been carried out on mice and not humans.

Daily Resveratrol Requirements

If you drink one glass of red wine it would mean that you have taken approximately one milligram of Resveratrol. It has been suggested that the average adult should have a daily dosage of 100-150 milligrams of Trans-Resveratrol for the best benefits.

The amount of resveratrol in wines varies greatly, depending on the grape variety.  Wines produced from muscadine grapes, both red and white, contain more than 40 mg/L, whereas non-muscadine Red wine contain between 0.2 – 5.8 mg/L.  Red wine generally has more resveratrol because red wine is fermented with the skins (which allows the wine to absorb the resveratrol) whereas white wine is fermented after the skin has been removed.

However as you can see you would need to drink a huge amount of red wine every day to gain the benefits but that would be detrimental to your well being.   So now it’s available for purchase as a nutritional supplement such as Resveratrol Select.

There would appear to be a number of beneficial health effects if you take Resveratrol daily such as:

  1. Anti-cancer
  2. Antiviral
  3. Neuro-protective
  4. Anti-aging
  5. Anti-inflammatory
  6. Life prolonging
  7. Weight loss ….and more….

Following the recent exposure on television (Barbara Walters, CNN and 60 Minutes) and print media (New York Times), people are curious and asking what is resveratrol?

  • Is it really the new red wine health wonder drug or is it just a passing fad?
  • Is it the long waited for and best anti aging product on the market today?
  • Are the much discussed Resveratrol Benefits And Resveratrol Supplements something we should be serious about and and take regularly
  • Are the so called wine health benefits just an imagination?
  • Is it one of the best antioxidant foods available?

I’ll try to answer those questions in this website in a manner that you can read, understand and most of all, that will inspire you want to take action and start taking what some people are calling a wonder drug!!

Well my wife and I and many of our friends are true believers of all that has been written and said about the Resveratrol health benefits and now regularly take our Resveratrol supplements. Since we started taking this resveratrol supplement we have noticed quite a change in our every-day lives, mainly in terms of increased energy, more relaxed sleep and better joint mobility.

You could say that we are experiencing the red wine benefits without any of the after affects of drinking too much!!

Most of the advertised benefits are very hard to measure, however in the various testing that has been carried out on mice and fish they indicate a real possibility of far more reaching and beneficial outcomes from regularly taking resveratrol supplements.

What Is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a natural superior antioxidant compound found in an abundance in red grapes (mainly the skins), grape seed extract, red wine, Japanese Knotweed, peanuts and some berries.  A new study has also discovered that significant levels of resveratrol can also be found in cocoa powder and dark chocolate. Amounts of reservatrol in a bottle of red wine can vary depending on the growing season and the types of grapes the wine comes from.  However nearly all the darker red wines (especially Pinot Nior, Merlot, Cabernet and Shiraz) contain far higher amounts of resveratrol than what white wines or grape juice does. Unfortunately if you were to claim the daily benefits of resveratrol by drinking red wine you would need to consume quite a few bottles which is not really advisable.   Resveratrol comes in two forms, cis-resveratrol and trans-resveratrol.

Resveratrol Health Benefits

While resveratrol has recently been subjected to extensive research and experiments, it will take some time yet to definitely confirm that all the hugely exciting and positive long term health benefits of resveratrol will also affect humans in the same manner as it has in the mice being tested. For years many scientists have been attempting to find out what was responsible for the French great heart disease statistics, where their diets were often much worse than the diets in other countries.  They often smoked, drank a lot of coffee, ate a lot of pastries and generally had a diet that was very high in fat.  But what else did they do and much more so than other countries, perhaps excluding the Mediterranean? They consumed a very high quantity of dark red wine!!   So was it the benefits of red wine that caused this medical paradox?  The initial results of trials would suggest this to be the case.

Following are the red wine health benefits (and therefore resveratrol);

  • Increased levels of energy and better muscle health In the laboratory tests mice on resveratrol ran twice as far on a treadmill than mice not on resveratrol.  Tests showed that wine resveratrol increased muscle tissue oxygen consumption in these lab mice and there was an increase in the number of mitochondria in their muscle tissue.  What that means in layman’s terms is that if you regularly take resveratrol it can effectively transform your muscles to resemble those only usually found in trained athletes.  Perhaps another interesting effect may be that of the Sirtuins, enzymes which become less powerful with aging.  Evidence shows that resveratrol may in fact trigger these sirtuins, therefore strengthening them and so assist in warding off degenerative disease.
  • Better heart health There are now studies which reveal that red wine drinkers have approxiametly 50% the risk of heart disease than those that don’t drink any red wine. The resveratrol is protective against cholesterol.
  • Improved brain and kidney health Spanish researchers investigated the red wine health benefits by monitoring lab mice fed a high-cholesterol diet and then one which also included resveritol.  They concluded that red wine may protect the brain and kidneys against oxidative stress and high blood cholesterol.
  • Improved prostate health and a more regular urine flow A recent University of Alabama study found a reduction in the development of prostate cancer  in mice by 87%, in addition a slowing of the cancer’s progression, all by the mice being fed resveratrol.
  • Improved breast health in women Research so far with animals show that resveratrol inhibits the development of esophageal, intestinal and mammary (breast) cancer.  This resveratrol link to breast cancer is hugely significant because it means that resveratrol could slow or stop the progression of breast cancer, because breast cancer is usually caused by increased estrogen levels.  I’m sure you’re aware or the importance of this as breast cancer is the 6th biggest cause of death and is the most common kind of cancer amongst women in America.
  • Improved cell protection When resveratrol is added to cells, it has been found to inhibit the production of several human cancer cell lines, including those from breast, prostate, stomach, colon, pancreatic and thyroid cancers.
  • Antioxidant supplement Take a proactive approach to reducing your risk by eating a balanced diet, exercising and supplementing with antioxidants like resveratrol, which science has shown to provide protection against many cancers and ailments.
  • Anti aging supplement Resveratrol may be amongst the most important anti-aging supplements ever discovered.  Initial research on fish and non-invertebrates that have taken resveratrol show increased life-spans of between 33%-60%.  Researchers have said that adding small amounts of resveratrol to diets of middle-aged mice significantly slowed their aging and kept their hearts more healthy and when mice were given higher doses with a high-fat diet, it staved off premature death.  Researchers also understand that resveratol actually can extend life in the same way that calorie restricted diets do.  This happens when the body is activated at a genetic level to produce Sirtuin 1, an enzyme involved in cellular regulation.
  • Resveratrol may be protective against lung cancer Between 2000 and 2003, Dr. Chun Chao studied members aged 45 to 69 at Kaiser’s California Men’s Study.  There she identified 210 cases of lung cancer and measured the effect of beer, red wine and white wine consumption on the risk of lung cancer.  With each glass of red wine consumed per month she found that there was a 2 percent lower chance of lung cancer, but there was no benefit when they drank white wine or beer.  The highest risk reduction was the smokers who drank 1 – 2 glasses of red wine every day.  In tests with mice that were given resveratrol supplements, the compound retarded lung cancer growth and also induced lung cancer cells to commit apoptosis.
  • Resveratrol may reduce liver disease Resveratrol reduced the amount of fat produced in the liver of mice fed alcohol and increased the rate at which the liver fat was broken down.  Heavy drinking of alcohol will cause fat to accumulate in the liver which can lead to cirrhosis, fibrosis, and other liver diseases.  Previous studies show that chronic alcohol drinking inhibits the 2 proteins (AMPK and SIRT1) which are significant in the breakdown of fats in the liver.  This allows fats to build-up.  Fresh USA studies support the premise, that the protective wine health benefits of a glass of red wine a day could actually protect against liver disease.  And as we now know there is a link between the great health benefits of wine to that of wine resveratrol, which is a powerful natural polyphenol and antifungal chemical which occurs under the skin of red wine grapes. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) which was almost totally unknown over 20 years ago, is now the most common liver disease in America, which affects in excess of 40 million adults and is expected to grow worldwide as nations become increasingly obese.  For those who took red wine resveratrol (antioxidant supplement) daily reduced the odds of having suspected NAFLD by 50 per cent.  By contrast, people who consumed only modest levels of beer or spirits had over four times the odds of having suspected NAFLD.
  • Resveratrol could reduce colon cancer risk A recent Californian study found that low doses of freeze-dried grape powder (resveratrol powder) could actually inhibit the development of colorectal cancer.  This is due to the polyphenols and synergistic effects between the grape compounds.  This follows a 2006 study which found that resveratrol could reduce colon cancer risk by 67%

Conclusion

A new drug has just passed the final stage of animal testing, which brings the reality closer of a multi- purpose drug which fights the diseases of aging (alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer and other age-related diseases) and so increasing life expectancy.

SRT1720 is the chemical cousin of resveratrol and targets, the same enzyme that resveratrol targets. The protective properties of compounds found in red wine resveratrol are the growing focus of research and clinical tests investigating amongst other things, the dietary mechanisms to stem the growing tide of diseases such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

The discovery of resveratrol and the benefits for us are truly exciting. By spending under 50 cents per day and taking a capsule you can now enjoy some very measurable benefits in improving your quality of daily life, but also with the very real possibility that you could also be protecting yourself from all the ailments mentioned above. Wouldn’t it great to live a little longer so you could enjoy your grandchildren more, but if not live longer what about if your quality of your  life improves dramatically as you get older which means you can continue to participate in activities that earlier generations weren’t able to at that age.  Fantastic!!! While they are developing a drug that imitates all the qualities of Resveratrol, it has been available for years in capsule or powder form and it is completely natural with NO side effects .  Drug companies are not able to patent any herbal medicinal extracts so they will continue with research and develop resveratrol into a drug form, but probably won’t be available in 3 to 4 years. Personally I’d far rather be enjoyingthe Resveratrol Health Benefits And taking Resveratrol Supplements (and perhaps one of the only anti aging products) now and enjoy all the immediate health benefits

For centuries, red wine has been linked to numerous health benefits. But this new study, published online in the journal Nature, shows that mammals given ultrahigh doses of resveratrol benefit from positive effects of cutting calories without actually doing it. “If we’re right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry,” Sinclair said. “It’s the Holy Grail of aging research.”

Resveratrol is the ingredient in red wine that made headlines in November 2007 when scientists demonstrated that it kept overfed mice from gaining weight, turned them into the equivalent of Olympic marathoners, and seemed to slow down their aging process. Few medical discoveries have generated so much instant buzz.

Resveratrol Weight Loss

Resveratrol Weight Loss is often talked of as being beneficial to the body.

Is Resveratrol antioxidants and weight loss a good pairing?

Does taking resveratrol really work in weight reduction?   When you talk with weight loss experts they all say that the golden rule in weight loss is pretty simple – take in or eat fewer calories than you use or expend in exercise.  However if you’re like me, and any dieter will tell you, that’s easier said than done.
We all find it hard to make the time to exercise, with excuses such as ‘too busy… too cold…I will tomorrow…I enjoy eating and drinking too much… etc.’   Worldwide we spend billions of dollars every year on weight loss supplements, exercise programs and other diet aids – and guess what?  We can’t seem to win the battle of the increasing bulge.
Now people are desperate enough to try risky surgery or fad diets to overcome this problem.  I have tried so many diets, I make a new years resolution every year to do more exercise but as we get older that gets harder.

A recently developed new product has come to light that may help people trying to lose weight stay on the healthy end of the spectrum.  Resveratrol Select, which is unlike many diet supplements in that it uses a combination of natural and herbal ingredients designed to help the body stay healthy while losing weight.  How?  By mimicking the best and certain aspects of the Mediterranean and French diet.

Studies have shown that part of America’s war with weight lies in the uniquely modern American combination of stressful lifestyle and fast-food consumption, and that the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle seem to be more conducive to healthier weight levels and longevity.  In fact, much as been made on the news in recent months of the purported “French Paradox,” (how the French eat a high-fat diet, enjoy rich desserts, drink wine and still have better cardiovascular health than the rest of us).One of the biggest differences between the American and French diet seems to be the wine consumption, and red wine (a staple on most Mediterranean tables) contains one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, resveratrol, which is a key ingredient in Resveratrol Select. In addition to wine, resveratrol is also found in grape skins, blueberries, cranberries and other plants, and recent animal and in vitro studies indicate that it can have a positive effect on helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, supporting insulin health and optimizing metabolic and immune pathways that protect cells and improve mitochondrial function.

  • One capsule of Resveratrol Select includes as much resveratrol as 200 glasses of wine—without the added calories that alcohol can add to the waistline.
  • But it doesn’t stop there as consuming resveratrol alone isn’t enough to help with weight loss.  So the manufacturers of Resveratrol Select also added a different type of antioxidant, Green Tea Extract (EGCG), which could make a big difference.   Over time, green tea consumption helps increase metabolism, burn fat and reduce fat storage due to its caffeine and L-theanin content, which can be pivotal in helping to maintain energy for exercise.
  • Resveratrol Select combines these two powerful antioxidants with yet another energy boosting ingredient, Chromium, a niacin-based mineral that plays an important role in how the body uses insulin to burn sugars, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for energy.

The trial offer also includes two bonus tools to help with weight loss;

  • An e-book with over 70 weight loss tips
  • And a weight loss visualization audio

Of course, if you are able to consume fewer calories while burning more then that is the most efficient form of weight loss, but as I said before that’s not always easy to do.  But if you’re like me and tried many of the different types of diet programs on the market with no lasting benefits then this new combination herbal supplement is worth a look for those concerned about maintaining good health while losing weight.  I have now been on Resveratrol Select for a few months now and have noticed a definite Resveratrol weight loss and all round general improvement in my every day health.

I always think it’s a good idea to inform your doctor before taking any weight loss supplement, but the good thing about this product is that it’s all completely natural with no side effects.
