Can You Lose Weight Taking Resveratrol

Are Resveratrol Antioxidants and Weight Loss a Good Pairing?  Or is just a marketing ploy?

The number one rule in weight loss is pretty simple.  Eat fewer calories than what you can use up or burn by exercising.

However any dieter will tell you that it’s not that easy.  All around the world billions of dollars are spent every year on diet fads, weight loss supplements, exercise programs and other diet aids — and still the battle of the bulge hasn’t been won.  Sometimes we get desperate enough to try risky surgery or strange and health threatening fad diets.

Not long ago a new product was released that may help you to lose weight while staying at the healthy end of the spectrum.  It is unlike many diet other supplements in that it uses a combination of natural and herbal ingredients which are designed to help the body stay healthy while actually losing weight.  How could this be?   Well it’s called Resveratrol Select and it mimicks certain aspects of the Mediterranean diet.

Studies have shown that part of the Western world’s war with increasing weight issues, partly lies with the uniquely modern lifestyle which features a combination of stressful living and a growing fast-food consumption.  On the other hand the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle seem to be much more conducive to a healthier weight level and longevity of life.

This has recently in fact been in the news showing how the purported “French Paradox,” which is how can the French eat a high-fat diet, enjoy rich desserts, drink wine and still have better cardiovascular health than most of us in other western countries.  For example one of the biggest differences between say the American and French diets seems to be the amount of wine consumed and I’m sure you know by now that red wine (which is a staple drink on most Mediterranean tables) contains one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, resveratrol.

This is a key ingredient in Resveratrol Select.In addition to wine, resveratrol is also found in grape skins, blueberries, cranberries and other plants.  Recent animal and in vitro studies indicate that it can have a positive effect on the following;

  • helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels
  • supporting insulin health
  • optimizing metabolic and immune pathways that protect cells and improve mitochondrial function

One capsule of Resveratrol Select includes as much resveratrol as 200 glasses of wine — without the added calories that alcohol has and that can add to your waistline.  However consuming resveratrol just on it’s own isn’t enough to help with weight loss, so the manufacturers of Resveratrol Select have also added another type of antioxidant, Green Tea Extract (EGCG) which could make a big difference in slimming.

Over time, green tea consumption helps;

  • increase metabolism
  • burn fat
  • reduce fat storage due to its caffeine and L-theanin content

which can be pivotal in helping to maintain energy for exercise.

In addition to these two powerful antioxidants Resveratrol Select combines yet another energy boosting ingredient.  Chromium, which is a niacin-based mineral that plays an important role in how;

  • the body uses insulin to burn sugars, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for energy

Although relatively new to the market, Resveratrol Select is selling well with many people are taking advantage of the free trial offer to see how well the product works for them.

The trial offer also includes;

  • two bonus tools to help with weight loss
  • an e-book with over 70 weight loss tips
  • a weight loss visualization audio

Of course as I mentioned at the start, consuming fewer while burning more calories is the most efficient form of weight loss.  But it’s very hard to keep this up on a daily basis, unless you’re much more disciplined than me about what you eat and how regularly you exercise!
It’s always a good idea to inform your doctor before taking a weight loss supplement, but this new combination herbal supplement is worth a look for those concerned about maintaining good health while losing weight – naturally.

Resveratrol, Weight Loss and Type 2 Diabetes

Posted by KP on May 30th, 2010

When it comes to losing weight, the equation is pretty simple; consume fewer calories than you expend in a day.

That’s the simplistic view, although somehow it never seems to end up exactly that way.

There are billions of dollars spent every year on weight loss products, supplements, exercise programs and other diet fads, and yet we still can’t seem to win the obesity battle. In the last few years though, a new natural supplement product has come to market that may help those trying to lose weight, including type 2 diabetics to stay within the healthy end of the spectrum. The supplement called resveratrol which is predominantly sourced from the polygonum cuspidatum plant, is unlike most diet supplements in that it utilizes a combination of both natural & herbal ingredients which can help the body maintain health whilst losing weight.

The reason much of the Western world has issues with obesity and type 2 diabetes in most part lies with the modern combinations of stressful lifestyle and fast-food consumption, however by replicating aspects of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, where much healthier weight levels and longevity prevail, we may have discovered the magic wonder pill to fix all. In fact, there has been a lot of news in recent months about the supposed “French Paradox,” which is known for how the French people eat a diet high in fat, smoke, enjoy rich desserts, drink copious amounts of wine and still end up with better heart health than most of the rest of the world. One of the main differences between the French diet and other world diets would appear to be the consumption of red wine, which it has become known contains a powerful antioxidant known as resveratrol.

Resveratrol is also found in grape skins, blueberries, cranberries and other plants like the Japanese Knotweed (which is where most supplement resveratrol is sourced from). Recent animal and in vitro studies have indicated that resveratrol can have a positive effect on maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, supporting insulin health, normalizing blood pressure and optimizing the metabolic and immune pathways that protect cells and improve mitochondrial function.

So if you’re on the hunt for a healthy natural supplement that will do you ever bit of good in helping you with your obesity, and type 2 diabetes, you’d be hard pressed to find anything better than a quality resveratrol supplement.

Maintaining good type 2 diabetes control and taking a quality supplement like resveratrol is essential to minimize the damage high blood sugar can do to your body. Having type 2 diabetes is definitely a life changing disease, but it needn’t be a life sentence, because it really does provide the opportunity for you to start living a healthy, fulfilling life. If you want to get on top of your type 2 diabetes naturally, there are natural ways to control and normalize your blood sugar levels that definitely work. To find out how this can help you to control your pre diabetes, or type 2 diabetes condition, go to Diabetes Control.
